Queen Latifah and Regina King are among the early winners at the 47th Annual NAACP Image Awards.

Last night it was announced that Queen Latifah won Outstanding Actress in a TV movie for her performance in HBO’s Bessie. Regina also walked away with the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the first two seasons of ABC’s “American Crime.”

NBC’s “The Wiz Live” and ABC’s “black-ish” are also leading with two prizes already, according to TV Line.

Jussie Smollett and Bree Newsome are winners for this year’s Chairman’s Awards for being “agents of change” through using their media platforms.

The early announcements were made at the Pasadena Conference Center over an untelevised dinner hosted by Actor Affion Crockett and Reporter Nischelle Turner.

There was also a tribute for the late Julian Bond, a former NAACP chairman. Bond died last year at the age of 75.

The rest of the award announcements will be made tonight at the live show being hosted by Anthony Anderson on TV One at 9 pm EST. Entertainment Tonight Host Terrence Jenkins and Tracey Edmonds, the CEO of Edmonds Entertainment group, will be hosting the red carpet.
