In a coordinated press conference this morning, city officials and others updated Charlotte residents about the impact of Winter Storm Jonas on the region.

The storm has caused  power outages in the region.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police reported 56 wrecks. CMPD urged drivers to stay off the road. Also, intersections with non-working traffic signals should be treated like four-way stops.

The city’s solid waste service said there will be no trash collection today. Residents scheduled to have trash collected today should expect their garbage to be collected on Monday. Trash collection will then operate on a one-day delay for the remainder of next week.
