Comedian Donnell Rawlings is performing at Carolines on Broadway Thursday, December 3-6, but before he takes the stage, he talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about welcoming a new baby boy and how his character Ashy Larry is still paying his bills.
On his parenting style:
“If it it wasn’t for Serena and Venus’ father making them play tennis, I know Serena would’ve been in the strip club and Venus would’ve been doing hair. I’m not giving him a choice.”
Why he named his son something a little more traditional:
“I didn’t want him to be racially profiled. Austin can go to anybody’s house for dinner. Donnell can’t.”
