Caitlyn Jenner is now legally a woman.
Cait let us all know her name after appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair in June, but legally, she was still Bruce Jenner.
On Friday, an L.A. judge approved Jenner’s request to formally change her name and gender. Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg granted the petition at a small hearing – although Cait did not attend. She was represented by two lawyers, TMZ reports.
Caitlyn’s official, legal name is now Caitlyn Marie Jenner. In last week’s episode of the E! docuseries I Am Cait, the former Olympian revealed that the celebration of her name change is not just important to her, but to all the people who follow and support her.
