Getting disciplined in front of your friends is embarrassing enough.

Getting disciplined in front of the whole world? Well, that’s another story completely.

But that’s exactly what happened to a teenager in Baltimore who was confronted by someone who appears to be his mother after he was caught in the streets during Monday’s unrest in the city.

Hours after the funeral service for Freddie Gray — the 25-year-old man who died in police custody after suffering a severed spinal cord — youth stranded after school due to the shut down of major train stations engaged police in violent clashes that left some 15 officers injured. At one point, an officer was seen throwing rocks back at the young teenagers, a local CVS pharmacy was set ablaze, and more than two dozen were arrested.

And according to ABC Baltimore affiliate WMAR, the young teen on the video above was one of those participating. The site writes that the mother saw her son on television throwing rocks at police, though NewsOne has not been able to confirm the authenticity of this claim.

But if the video is any indication, she wasn’t very happy with him for some reason. And we can only assume that reason is because he was somewhere he knew better than to be.

The result? This “beat down” caught on tape that prompted many to dub the woman “mom of the year.”

Imagine this is your son. Do you agree with how she handled the situation? Sound off below…
