Person of interest in Detroit serial rapes arrested

Multiple sources say a person of interest suspected in a string of Detroit rapes is in custody.

The search has been ongoing since March, as at least six women reported a consistent theme of abduction and rape from an armed attacker. Now an arrest.

A Buick seen at a robbery on the city’s west side was pulled over. Police say the driver threw a pistol out the window and in the back seat, was a man with a mask.

He is considered the person of interest in the serial rapes. Sources say he’s a registered sex offender and while he was a juvenile, was convicted of rape  … click here for more details.

Rally held for racially bullied Bloomfield Hills student

A Bloomfield Hills middle school student was bullied with racial slurs and he records the incident on his cell phone.

While prosecutors ponder possible charges, a rally against racism was held outside the school Friday.

After being bullied on the school bus, 13-year-old Phoenix Williams is the reason everyone was there.

“I was scared and afraid when it was happening,” he said. “I just thought I needed to tell somebody about this and if I do this, I am sure action would be taken.”

William videotaped the incident on his cell phone in which two students repeatedly called him the n-word. The district has since disciplined them although by law the school can’t say to what extent.

Rumors of Gov. Rick Snyder running for president continue to grow

Pour more fuel on the fire when it comes to rumors of Gov. Rick Snyder running for president.

Snyder said at the beginning of the year he wants to travel the country to tout the Michigan comeback story.

Now a nonprofit 501(c)(4) fund has been set up to pay for those travels being run by the former chairman of the Michigan GOP.
