There are a lot of unfortunate NFL stories, and former NFL running back Lawrence Phillips is one of them. He’s currently serving 31 years in jail for attacking his ex-girlfriend and catching a felony hitting three teenagers with a car. The latest news on Phillips isn’t great either.
The 39-year-old is suspected of killing his cellmate Damion Soward at California’s Kern Valley State Prison, according to TMZ. The 37-year-old’s body was found at 1 a.m. on Saturday. Soward was serving time for first-degree murder.
Authorities say another murder happened on the same day, but it’s not clear if there is any connection.
