Feb 20 Maynard Jackson

He received his J.D. from the North Carolina Central University School of Law and worked as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board. Jackson became vice mayor of Atlanta in 1969 and mayor in 1973, making him the first African American mayor of Atlanta. Jackson served three terms as mayor (1974–82 and 1990–94).
