Ledisi

Ledisi’s fans were tuning up to see the soulful siren take the stage at the Grammys this weekend until it was revealed that she was getting replaced by Beyoncé.

We love our Beyoncé, but we live for Ledisi as well. When it was announced that there would be a Selma set at the Grammys we were giddy with idea of seeing Ledisi shut it down on stage. We got even more hype to see the show when rumors started to circulate that Bey would also be performing…until we found out that Bey would be performing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.”

Here we were all prepared to get our lives watching two uber-talented women, and then show producers do this! DAMN! Ledisi performs the gospel song on the sound track and in the movie. Naturally, people are going to be expecting her to sing it Sunday night.

For whatever reason, Grammy organizers decided to bring Beyoncé out for the big show. It’s certainly not a question of talent because both she and Ledisi will sing the roof down. It probably has more to do with Bey’s broader fan base. Still Ledisi’s loyals are not at all pleased with this development.

While the “Pieces of Me” singer has ample reason to gripe, Ledisi still hasn’t commented on the performance snub. She’s choosing to focus the fact that she managed to snag a Grammy nomination.

And even if she doesn’t get to take the stage on Sunday, she’s still gotten a chance to perform with some legends this week! You have just got to love how she’s still thankful for the amazing opportunities that she’s getting.
