At the beginning of a New Year, it’s typical for people to make resolutions to save more money, get a new job, get their finances in order, prepare their children for college, or handle legal matters. Often times, people want to make changes in their life but lack guidance from experienced professionals to meet their goals. On top of that, the fees to pay all these experts can be another roadblock to making major life changes.

On January 15, people who are interested in getting some professional help with meeting their financial, career, legal, and educational goals will be able to attend The Masterminds Seminar. This is an opportunity for the community to ask questions and get educated by top legal, financial, and career experts. The Masterminds Seminar is a free event which is designed to provide attendees with practical information to address issues facing our community. Attorneys Karen Darlington, Jr. and Salena Davis will conduct a presentation entitled Know Your Rights which will provide attendees with information about how to interact with the police and how to solve common legal issues. Budget Counselor Tina Owens Knox and Tax Accountant Rashad Phillips will conduct a presentation entitled Know Your Money which will address the following concerns: creating a spending plan, how to save more money, and how to financial protect your family. Demetra Moore, author and Career Coach will provide information on navigating through the current job market. Moore plans to share information with attendees about how to effectively use social media, networking, and improving your resume to help attendees expand their career opportunities. Dr. Rudy Jackson, a College Preparation Expert will provide parents and students with the information that they need to prepare for selecting a community college or university, how to find scholarships, and how to select the right college degree.

The Masterminds Seminar hosts want to make sure that our community is educated, informed, and empowered with practical tools to meet their goals in the New Year. The event hosts are expecting a packed house because they are offering a $100 gift card to the person who brings the most guests (ages 15 and up) and $50 gift card to the runner-up. This is your opportunity to pick the brains of experienced experts and your chance to win money!

The Masterminds Seminar will be held at Dupp&Swatt located 2424 N. Davidson Street Suite 112-B (NODA) at 3PM. RSVP for the Masterminds Seminar on Facebook or contact Tina at 704-363-5420.
