In front of more than 400 young football players, former Carolina Panther Steve Smith broke his own record in the Academy Sports Challenge. His goal was to run through a blocking dummy slalom, catch a football, run to a cone, run through some rings and toss the football at a target. He did it twice as part of the Steve Smith Pro Kids Camp at Audrey Kell High. The first time took him 10 seconds. It just a demonstration for the camp contestants, but Smith approached it with the same ferocity that he approaches everything on the field. He careened past through the slalom and barked for the ball as soon as he saw the young quarterback. At the end, he finger rolled the football toward the target.

Smith, now a Baltimore Raven, and dozens of area coaches lead the youth, ages 7-14, through various fundamental football drills at The Academy Sports Steve Smith Football Camp.
