Old School has learned that Shelly Sterling will accept offers this week to buy the Los Angeles Clippers, with former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer in the lead.
According to TMZ, the wife of Donald Sterling met with the former CEO on Sunday at her home in Malibu, CA to discuss an offer. Sources have revealed that a “a very competitive offer,” was established.
Sterling and her lawyer Pierce O’Donnell will make a deal this week. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is also in the loop, he knows all the details.
Other potential buyers include:
“– Grant Hill Group (Hill is a former NBA star who teamed up with investment partners)
— Magic Johnson and the Guggenheim Partners (a financial company based in Chicago)
— Patrick Soon-Shiong (surgeon turned multi-billionaire businessman)

Sources say Oprah Winfrey is no longer interested in buying the Clippers.
