Robin Emmons, founder of Sow Much Good, was selected as a top 10 CNN Hero on CNN’s “New Day” by Anderson Cooper which immediately won her nonprofit $50,000. She and the other 10 finalists that will travel to New York for a celebrity tribute Sunday Dec. 1.
Sow Much Good is committed to growing healthy communities in underserved neighborhoods by providing access to healthy food, educating people about healthy lifestyles and advocating for food justice for all.
“It is a privilege and an honor to serve my community in such a meaningful way through this work. I am extremely proud to represent Charlotte in the national media spotlight and grateful for the opportunity to raise the nation’s consciousness on this critically important issue,” said Emmons in a press statement. “The money will handily allow us to consider launching another urban farm and market site in another neighborhood that has needs in the Charlotte.”
