The Oxford Dictionary, which began publishing in 1857, announced the word “twerking” would be added as a listing during its quarterly update.

Ever since Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke’s performance at Sunday’s MTV VMA awards and all the twerking that’s been going on, Its no wonder the 150 year old publication jumped on the bandwagon.
According to Oxford Dictionary the word “twerk” (I can’t believe this is really a thing) means to dance “in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance.”
Stranger things have happened. Shortly after Destiny’s Child smash hit “Bootylicious,” The Oxford Dictionary also added the word to its listings. So with that said, this makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?
