First Lady Michelle Obama is releasing a rap album to promote her “Let’s Move!” anti-obesity campaign, but she won’t be singing.  Instead, she has joined forces with some big names in the hip-hop industry, including Ashanti, Run DMC, Doug E. Fresh and Monifah and she will be appearing in some video cameos along with the artists.

The album, which will be distributed in New York City schools before being sent to other major cities, is being released by the Partnership for a Healthier America and Hip Hop Public Health titled “Songs for a Healthier America”.

“I think hip-hop in particular — so many kids love hip-hop. It’s such a core part of our culture,” he said, ”… particularly in the African-American community and the Latino community, which is being disproportionately affected by those health issues.”

One of the music videos — “Everybody,” featuring Doug E. Fresh, Dr. Oz, Ryan Beatty and the Hip Hop MD — is already out.

The first lady teamed up with Beyoncé for another Let’s Move! campaign in 2011, remixing “Get Me Bodied” to create ”Move Your Body,” a flash workout for children.
