Surrounded by his family and fellow city council members James Mitchell announced that he will run for mayor. In a brief speech, Mitchell said he supports leaving the airport under city control. He also detailed his support for economic development in east and west Charlotte.
“We’re going to bring back the pride to the Eastland mall area,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell pledged to bring a spirit of collaboration to the city council. He rallied supporters to pledge their support for “Team Charlotte.”
