Most kids think of saving the world in terms like developing mutant powers or building themselves a super suit that can shoot bad guys and fly.  Swetha Sutthanandan did it by putting her brain into action and developed a cheaper and more flexible solar cell using zinc-oxide instead of the industry standard silicon. She admits that it’s not as efficient as silicon…yet. But given that she’s gotten this far it’s not difficult to say that her invention could revolutionize how we use the power of the sun.
