On Tuesday, ESPN released a video which shows Rutgers University’s head basketball coach  shoving players, kicking them, hurling balls at their heads and yelling homophobic slurs and profanity.

CNN is reporting that Rutgers Coach Mike Rice was fired after ESPN aired video of Rice physically and verbally abusing his players over the last three seasons. Rutgers initially suspended 3 games and fined $50,000 by Rutgers athletic director Tom Pernetti after watching the video in November but the public is outraged and want the coach fired from his position.

Pernetti stated:

“Accountability is a vital element of the Rutgers Athletic family and it is imperative our head coaches act and lead in a responsible manner,” “This was not an easy decision for me to make but absolutely necessary to ensure what is best for our program.”

“There’s a lot of hindsight 20/20 that will be that there was no other option than to terminate Mike,”” I made that decision; I’m accountable for it. I have to live with it.”

Watch the video and you be the judge…should Coach Mike Rice be fired?
