As the traditional urban brands fade, the go-to fashion trends for the past few years have been streetwear brands. Even with menswear getting a lot more attention in the fashion world, there are still days we want to throw on comfortable Tees and hoodies, and that’s where streetwear brands play an important role. As some brands lose their new-toy feel another line comes in and picks up the pieces to give us a fresh look. Spring is officially here, so what better time to take a look at a few brands you should check out this season.
IMKing
Starting originally as a T-shirt line a few years ago, the brand had enough buzz to create more than just tees. Moving on to jeans, sweatshirts and hoodies over the years. Being spotted on the likes of T.I., 50 Cent, Justin Bieber and Kendrick Lamar only brought more attention to the brand. Started by founder Andy Nguyen with partner Brian and based out of Orange County, CA, Nguyen said he started the line because he wanted to showcase clothing he was into and hoped people would buy into, while not follow the masses. The name of the company according to the founders of the company is said to represent the kings who ruled the world with power and immaculately pristine images. IMKing opened a flagship store in 2012 and they’re clearly looking to to make more noise in 2013.
Hood By Air
Debuting back in 2009 in NYC, HBA brought futuristic influenced designs to the streetwear market. Brining unfamiliar designs with minimal look and monotone themes the brand brought some new interest to streetwear. HBA got some extra notoriety when members of the A$AP Mob started popping up with numerous black-and-white Paramount tees made by the brand. The brand then was cosigned again during fashion week this year by A$AP Rocky when he walked in their their fall/winter 2013 line show, the first time the brand made an appearance in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. We should look for A$AP Rocky callabo with HBA, as he always does with his favorite brands to create more buzz with the brand.

With successful collaborations with Stussy and Hood By Air, Been Trill is looking to stand on their own and most recently opened their own online store. The brand got huge endorsements when the shirts popped showed up on the likes of Rihanna, Kanye West and once again trend setting group A$AP Mob. With all orignal Tees on their website, Been Trill is looking to take over the streetwear game with their over-the-top designs and big cosigns.

5 Bizarre Looks From Fashion Week That Make Us Just Want To Give Up
Pyrex Vision
Starting out oringally as a blog, somewhere in the mix Pyrex Vision developed into a clothing line. Designer Virgil Abloh has been behind the scenes with the Kanye West brand for years, but now he’s ready to develop his own brand. Designer Virgil says the Pryex brand is inspired by his years in high school, revealing thathe wore a lot Champion garments during his era. The brand has already been spotted on Jay-Z, A$AP Rocky, Kim Kardashian and, of course, Kanye West. Back in December the brand released it’s Spring 2013 selection and within minutes the entire line was sold out. Until you can get your hands on their summer offering stay tuned for more from the up and coming brand.
Wet Ocean Clothing
Getting an early buzz from from a signature hoodie posted on Instagram, everyone wanted to know what Wet Ocean clothing was. The brand gained over 100k followers from the piece that popped up on Instagram. Since then the brand has established a loyal following in the Bay Area, and has received great reviews from style blogs most notably Hypebeast. Look out for the brand to establish themselves as the go-to streetwear brands in 2013.
