Songbird Mariah Carey released a President Obama-inspired ballad, “Bring It On Home,” this morning—hours after the Commander-in-Chief was re-elected.

Carey initially performed the tribute song at an Obama fundraiser over the summer, but an official version was held under-wraps until today. Jermaine Dupri, the song’s producer, posted the mastered version of the song on Global14.com saying, “New Mariah Carey song, she wrote for Obama. BTW this is the real version.”

The ballad boasts the American Idol‘s trademark whistle and choir background vocals. Carey sings, “When it comes to win or lose/ Don’t give up the fight/ ‘Cuz strength is what we need/ And love can save our lives.”

It’s perhaps the perfect song as much of the nation continues to celebrate last night’s victory. Shortly before making his acceptance speech, President Obama tweeted, “We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are thank you.” His follow-up tweet of “Four more years” made history by becoming the most retweeted in the site’s history.

Listen to Carey’s inspirational ballad below and share your thoughts. Is it a home run?
