Mary J. Blige looks stunning in the November 2011 issue of ‘Elle’ magazine. Mary is laced in fur and other fashions from Gucci, Donna Karan New York, Walter Steiger, Michael Kors, Fendi. The jewelry is by De Beers. She rocks a different fur for each look with long black hair.

Mary is gearing up to release her new album, My Life 2: The Journey Continues. In this issue she talks playing Nina Simone and her upcoming film Rock Of Ages. The shoot was styled by Christopher Niquet & shot by photographer Thomas Whiteside.

About being distracted on stage…

“Honey, there are no distractions when you’re onstage, because you are where you live. When I’m on that stage I’m not worried about my heels, I’m not worried about my hair. My ponytail could fly off and it wouldn’t even matter to me. Because once you make the connection with those people, nothing else matters.”

About her music…

“I can’t save every man and woman on planet Earth; I’m not God. Let’s be clear on that. What I am is a vessel and a friend. What I’m here for is to walk outside and have someone say, ‘Wow, this song got me through this when I was going through this’ and then lay the story on me.”
