Grammy Award-winning R&B singer and actress Jill Scott brings her Budweiser Superfest Summer Block Party to Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on August 24. Mint Condition and Charlotte’s own Anthony Hamilton will open the show. DJ Jazzy Jeff will provide the grooves. Doug E. Fresh will host the block party. He killed it at 5th Element last year. Scott last toured with Maxwell. Since then she’s changed labels, had more relationship issues and released her new album “The Light of the Sun.” The album debuted at number when it was released last month. It features the single “So In Love,” which features Hamilton. She performed the smoldering “Rolling Hills” on the BET Awards on Sunday with actor Idris Elba providing the eye candy. Budweiser Superfest Summer Block Party will likely be one of the hottest tickets of the summer.
